Decopatch Giraffe Book Ends

This project has been in the WIP box for months and my saviour was a mucilage gun.

I bought my Decopatch Giraffe inwards the HobbyCraft Christmas sale with plans that he would live
a large blood brother to thіѕ guу.

But it was whilst I was trying to find some more than unusual / interesting volume ends that I changed
 my listen, realised he was perfect as well as instantly drew a directly line through his middle together with
 tооk а brеаdѕtuff knіfе tо hіm:

Once full, I needed to create a seal for his trunk, either side, created past tracing the form onto

Placed with books betwixt, his weight is enough to concord them in place, but these needed to live a
piffling more practical for me.  Remove ane volume as well as he volition fall, thus a base of operations would prevent this – simply I
even so wanted to hold the await of his body holding the books inward home.
Rather than a square base, I decided a triangle would add a footling more than design and I love a geometric cast, therefore I was happy.  I used the residuum of my cardboard box to create each, having the base in line with his body too using him to guide the size of the triangle:

Once happy alongside their placement, I secured them in home alongside my mucilage gun:

To match the base too seals to the texture of the Decopatch figure, I used a torn can coil as well as
 pva glue to get my decoupage on:

 …To encompass the bases, I used my cutting knife to create a cutting that would see the ends of the feet
 together with then cut a star shape that could curve about them:

Spraying the whole thing alongside paint.
I used the same tin used to cover this Decopatch Lion Moneybox too applied 2 total coats:

You could suit any of the Decopatch numbers, letters or animals to this projection.
Buy 2, cutting a hole at the bottom or top together with make full to weigh it downwards to get book ends that dont
involve a stand or a glue gun.  But if they dont have got the fashion or size yous similar, you could e’er have
 a pass at mаkіng уоur аіn?
